Reaching Star Princess Studs

Cats look up more than we notice. Here a princess-cut lab-grown diamond is turned on its point, so its four corners read as a star, held by four fine V-prongs that keep the corners safe. Below and slightly to the left, a small polished cat sits with its head tipped back and one forepaw lifted toward the lowest point of the star. It is the same gesture as a paw toward a moth, a tassel, a beam of afternoon light. The cat is 5.5 mm; the whole piece about 11 mm tall at one carat. Star sizes run 1 and 2 carats per ear, with no accent stones, only the one and the reach. Available in 18K yellow, rose and white gold, PT950 platinum and S925 sterling silver, push-back post. Each pair is made to order and takes ten working days.

Design

Below and a little to the left sits a small polished cat, head tipped back, one forepaw raised to touch the star's lowest point. The post sits behind the centre of the star, so the diamond rests on the lobe with the cat just beneath it, fastened with a push-back.
