Cushion Nap Cat Studs

The cut is called a cushion; the cat has taken the hint. A cushion-shaped lab-grown diamond is set low in a bezel, its soft corners kept, and around its lower half a polished cat curls the way a cat curls into a pillow that is slightly too small: head resting on one corner, body following the edge, tail closing the circle at the other corner. The band of the body tapers from about 1.2 mm to a 3 mm head with two ears. Because the stone is the pillow, it is offered a little larger than usual: 1, 2 or 3 carats per ear, reaching roughly 12 mm overall at the largest. No accent stones. In 18K yellow, rose or white gold, PT950 platinum or S925 sterling silver, on a push-back post. Each pair is made to order and finished within ten working days.

Design
A cushion-shaped lab-grown diamond sits low in a full bezel, playing the pillow. Around its lower half a polished cat curls in plain metal: head and two small ears resting on one corner, body tapering along the edge, tail closing the circle at the other. There are no accent stones, only the mirror-bright finish of the cat against the stone. Each stud sits close and flat on the lobe, held by a push-back post behind the centre of the stone.
