Antler Cradle Round Studs

We began with the setting, not the motif. A round lab-grown diamond sits low in a plain bezel, and from the wall of that bezel two short antler beams grow, one to each side, each forking once, the four tines curving in over the stone without ever touching it. The effect is a small crown, or a cradle, or the first spring growth on a young deer before the velvet has gone, depending on who is looking. The beams are fully polished, and the stone is left open at the front so light enters from every angle. The antlers grow with the stone: about 11 mm tall at 1 ct per ear, and close to 13 mm at 3 ct. It sits securely on a straight post with a push-back closure, in 18K yellow, rose or white gold, PT950 platinum or S925 sterling silver. Every pair is made to order and takes ten working days.

Design
A single round lab-grown diamond sits low in a plain bezel on each ear. From the rim of the bezel two polished antler beams rise, one to each side, each forking once into two rounded tines that curve in over the stone and stop just short of touching it, like a small cradle. The front is left open to the light, and the stud sits close to the lobe on a straight post with a push-back closure.
