Most of what we buy already exists before we find it. It has been made in advance, packed, stored and displayed, waiting for someone to come along. Made-to-order jewelry works the other way around. At Aetheris, there is no room of finished pieces waiting for owners. Each design is made after an order is confirmed, for the person who chose it. Here is what that means in practice, why we work this way, and how to order with confidence.
A shelf or a beginning
In a stock-based model, a jeweler predicts what people might want, makes it ahead of time and hopes the predictions were right. Aetheris does not work that way. Finished jewelry is not kept on shelves in anticipation; every piece is made to order. A ring, pendant or pair of earrings comes into being because someone asked for it.
It also changes the rhythm of buying. Instead of carrying something home the same afternoon, there is a short, deliberate pause between choosing and receiving. That pause can become part of the pleasure: time to anticipate the piece, to plan the moment it will be given or first worn, and to know it is being made with your own choices in mind.
That approach also leaves room for your own choices. You select the metal from five, spanning three colors of 18K gold, PT950 platinum and sterling silver. Most designs offer several diamond weight options, ring sizes run from US 5 through 10 with half sizes in between, bracelets can be ordered in a range of lengths, and the Round Initial Pendant lets you choose a letter or number. The piece that arrives is the combination you selected, not the nearest thing that happened to be in stock.
The quiet logic behind it
There is a certain calm in knowing that a piece of jewelry exists because it was wanted. Nothing about it was made on speculation. Its starting point is a lab-grown diamond chosen by Aetheris, formed above ground and not mined, so no new mining is needed for that stone.
The company behind the brand, Aetheris Technology Co., Limited, is itself a producer of loose lab-grown diamonds, which is why each design can begin with a stone selected for it. The final part of the logic belongs to you: a timeless design, chosen carefully and looked after, can be worn for many years and eventually passed on.
Ten working days, then the journey
Production takes 10 working days from order confirmation. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays, so it helps to count on a calendar rather than simply adding ten days to today's date.
When your piece is ready, it leaves Hong Kong by air for any destination in the world, fully tracked, and the tracking number arrives in your inbox once it is dispatched. Any import duties and taxes fall to the person receiving the parcel. The full details, including delivery options, are set out in our shipping policy. If you are ordering for a birthday, an anniversary or a holiday, allow for both the production time and the journey.
Why decisions come before production
Made to order carries one responsibility for the buyer: because your piece is made specifically for you, the choices need to be right before production begins. After production has begun, an order cannot be cancelled, and changing your mind later does not entitle you to a return or refund.
This is not meant to make ordering feel risky. It is meant to make it deliberate. And if something is not as it should be, you are looked after: report a defect or transit damage with photos no later than 7 days after delivery, and the repair costs you nothing. A short checklist before you confirm
- Measure carefully. For rings, use our international ring size guide and measure the very finger that will wear the ring.
- Choose your metal with care. Sterling silver is the gentlest on a budget, while platinum sits slightly below 18K gold in price for the same Aetheris design.
- Pick a diamond weight option you will enjoy wearing often, not only on special occasions.
- Ask about your diamond. Color, clarity and grading-report details differ from one stone to another, so send a note to aetheristechhk@gmail.com and have yours confirmed first.
- Check the timing and address. Allow 10 working days plus shipping, and make sure the recipient is ready for any import duties.
